Your Safety is Paramount
Many different experiments are described on this website. These involve both working with electronic instrumentation and the use of chemicals/reagents to perform a range of chemical analyses.
Before embarking on any scientific investigation, the experimenter must ensure that their own personal safety and that of anyone else working in their vicinity is more important than anything else. This means that a risk assessment must be conducted before embarking on any experiment using chemicals and electrical equipment.
A risk assessment examines the nature of all potential risks in terms of both their probability and their seriousness and then considers risk mitigation measures, but personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, a lab coat and gloves should always be worn whenever working with chemicals. Always think safety first and perform your own due diligence before commencing any laboratory activity.
